In this mini-series, Beyoncé: A Millennial’s Journey we will look at how Beyoncé is known as a musical artist, but she is truly a multimedia artist. Over the years she has developed her presence in the music indistry to creates a temporal experience of music and visuals together. This course is divided into five different classes. The first class is dedicated to orienting ourselves, looking at the current state of Beyonce, which is going to be a brief overview of Cowboy Carter and what to expect at a Beyonce live performance. The second class is will be foundation building summarizing her discography. We're going to look at her start in Girls Tyme into Destiny’s Childs, all the way into her early solo career. With this foundation, we will move on to Episode 3, which is Beyoncé as a contributor to culture and as an important tastemaker in our society. We will be studying her approach to fame and the persona she has created for the public eye, intertwining her private life and her public success. We'll be examining her artistic endeavors, her philanthropic efforts, and her role as a pop culture icon and a central figure in contemporary culture. Fourth class, we will be getting back into a close look at her music. We will be examining her mature solo career, beginning with Lemonade, and then moving on to I Am King, and Renaissance. And then the fifth class will be a much closer look at Cowboy Carter. I hope you join me for all five classes.
